my body is mine

In class 4, the pupils take part in the “My body belongs to me” project in cooperation with the neighboring elementary school.

This is a theater education prevention program against sexual abuse, which is carried out by the theater education workshop from Osnabrück.

The interactive scenes are presented and discussed in three school lessons at intervals of one week. At the beginning of every encounter, the body song for a good mood and makes the pupils strong for serious topics.

The Sexual Violence Prevention Program encourages elementary school children to recognize, express and follow their feelings. Whether it's a matter of combing your hair that pulls or the neighbor touching your butt – situations are shown in game scenes in which the physical limits of children are violated and facets of sexual violence are discussed. The stories are told close to everyday life so that the children can easily understand how other girls and boys recognize their feelings of no. In this way, the children's perception is sensitized and their confidence in their own feelings is strengthened.

Interactive play encourages children to develop their own strategies to meet challenges.

The project is followed up in class and the children are given a phone number where they can reach people who can help them.

The most important message of the project is: "If you have a feeling of no, go to someone and tell them about it!"
